Services
What the desk does.
Four services, described plainly. Each one runs on the same standard: every line traces to a standard, a code requirement, or a decision someone owns.
Division 08 · Division 10
Door hardware specification writing
The core of the practice and what Architectural Specifications Consultants (ASC) is known for. Hardware sets built opening by opening against the door schedule, coordinated with frames, fire ratings, egress requirements, and accessibility. Division 08 primarily, with Division 10 specialties alongside. Submittal review and substitution requests handled with the same rigor as the original specification.
Division 28
Electrified hardware and access control coordination
A newer lane at the desk and a growing one. The same rigor ASC built on mechanical hardware, applied where openings meet security and electrical systems. Power supplies, transfer devices, fail safe and fail secure decisions, door position switches, and the coordination conversations that keep Division 08 and Division 28 telling the same story.
For manufacturers
Guide specifications
ASC writes guide specs and offers this service openly to all manufacturers. Guiding the Spec means a document a specifier can drop into a project without rewriting it first: correct section numbering, honest performance language, and product descriptions that hold up under an "or equal" challenge.
Product advisory
Advising the best architectural products for every project
Independence paired with inventory knowledge. ASC tracks what is available now, what has changed, what has quietly gone obsolete, and what performs in the field. That knowledge is among the best in the field, and it belongs to the project rather than to a factory.
